HelmNet Online Reporting Manual

The purpose of the Online Reporting feature within the HelmNet portal provides institutions a secure method to run and export real-time data for the College Access Loan (CAL), Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program (TASSP), and B-on-Time (BOT) programs. Administrators can access program summaries as well as borrower-specific details from application to final disbursement.

Bilingual Education Scholarship Program Funds Request Form Instructions

Instruction on how to complete the Bilingual Education Scholarship Program Fund Request Form (FRF). Participating Institutions can request Bilingual Education Scholarship Program funds throughout the year on an as-needed basis using the Funds Request Form (FRF). The FRF allows for easier reconciliation between the institution’s Financial Aid Office, Business Office, and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB). To submit the completed funds request, follow the instructions in the Submit the Request section.

Peace Officers and Firefighters Disabled in the Line of Duty Guidelines

The exemption for Peace Officers and Firefighters Disabled in the Line of Duty is authorized by TEC, Chapter 54, Subchapter D, Section 54.352. The program provides an exemption from tuition and fees to eligible peace officers and firefighters who are permanently disabled as a result of an injury sustained in the line of duty.

Tuition Equalization Grant FY 2020 Engagement Guide

The TEG Engagement Guide was developed by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) to assist auditors during the TEG Program engagement process at Texas Private/Independent institutions. The purpose of the engagement is to confirm that awards are only given to eligible students and that the institution has an adequate system of internal controls to assure adherence to program laws and regulations.

Although all requirements outlined in this guide must be addressed by the auditor, the auditor should use his or her judgment to determine if further matters should be reviewed. This guide is not intended to be an exhaustive reference.
