The purpose of the Financial Aid Database (FAD) Report is to collect data used by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) to produce an annual statewide Financial Aid Report, determine state aid program allocations, conduct compliance monitoring, and generate additional statewide and institutional reports. This document provides information and guidance to institutions for completing the FAD Report.

Instruction on how to complete the Educational Aide Exemption (EAE) Fund Request Form (FRF). Participating Institutions can request EAE program funds throughout the year on an as-needed basis using the Funds Request Form (FRF). The FRF allows for easier reconciliation between the institution’s Financial Aid Office, Business Office, and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB).

The Texas College Work-Study (TCWS) Program is authorized by TEC, Chapter 56, Subchapter E, Section 56.073. Rules establishing procedures to administer the subchapter can be found in Title 19 of the TAC, Chapter 22, Subchapter G. The purpose of the TCWS Program is to provide employment to eligible students with financial need. These positions are funded by a combination of state appropriations and funds from employers.

The Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program (TASSP) is authorized by TEC, Chapter 61, Subchapter A, Section 61.9771. Rules establishing procedures to administer the subchapter can be found in Title 19 of the TAC, Chapter 22, Subchapter I. The purpose of the TASSP is to encourage students to become members of the Texas Army National Guard, Texas Air National Guard, Texas State Guard, United States Coast Guard or United States Merchant Marine, or to become commissioned officers in any branch of the armed services of the United States.

Public institutions of higher education are required to participate in the NPC tool by providing the required institutional information to estimate the COA. Private/Independent institutions of higher education in Texas approved to participate in the Tuition Equalization Grant (TEG) and Texas College Work-Study (TCWS) Programs are strongly encouraged to participate in the NPC tool.
