- Emergency and Trauma Care Education Partnership Program - Graduate Medical Education Program 2026-2027

In 2011, the 82nd Texas Legislature created the Emergency and Trauma Care Education Partnership Program (ETEP) to address the state’s need for physicians and registered nurses with training in emergency and trauma care. ETEP provides funding support for partnerships between graduate medical education programs and hospitals (as defined in Appendix A, RFA Definitions) in emergency and trauma care to increase training opportunities in the medical specialty/subspecialty areas of emergency medicine (EM), pediatric emergency medicine (PEM), and surgical critical care (SCC).

The Emergency and Trauma Care Education Partnership Program (ETEP) was established to address the state’s need for physicians and registered nurses with training in emergency and trauma care. ETEP provides funding support for partnerships between hospitals and graduate professional nursing programs (as defined in Appendix A, RFA Definitions) to increase the education and training experiences in emergency and trauma care for registered nurses pursuing graduate-level education. The program provides similar support for partnerships between hospitals and graduate medical education programs in emergency and trauma care.
