Addendum to the FY 2023 Graduate Medical Education (GME) Planning and Partnership Grants program Request for Applications (RFA). 

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s (THECB) Academic and Health Affairs Division is pleased to announce a Request for Applications (RFA) under the Nursing Innovation Grant Program (NIGP) to support eligible initial RN licensure programs in their efforts to mitigate the ongoing challenges related to the state’s nursing pipeline. NIGP was established to provide grant funding to eligible institutions that propose to address the shortage of registered nurses (RN) in Texas by developing or expanding new activities and projects that promote innovation in the preparation of initial RN licensure nursing students and of faculty who may teach in initial RN licensure programs. Funding will support programs that address the shortage of registered nurses and/or qualified faculty by promoting innovation in one or more of the following areas: education, recruitment, and retention.

This Graduate Medical Education (GME) Planning and Partnership Grants program Request for Applications (RFA) is to support eligible applicants that intend to develop a new GME program with first-year residency positions. Planning Grants encourage new partnerships between applicants and existing GME programs for the purpose of developing new residency programs.
