Graduate Medical Education Grant Program Request for Applications 2026-2028

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) is pleased to announce the Request for Applications (RFA) for the 2026–2028 Graduate Medical Education (GME) Expansion Grants Program.

The GME Expansion Program provides funding to establish or expand nationally accredited GME residency programs in Texas. The goal of the program is to increase the number of first-year residency positions statewide and support the state’s objective of maintaining at least 10 percent more first-year residency positions than the number of graduating Texas medical students.
