This memo is a follow-up to our memo on June 15, 2018 regarding an issue with the College Access Loan (CAL) application process.

All state financial aid programs must be reconciled with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) starting with reporting cycle two in order to validate by the August 1, 2018 deadline.

The deadline to submit data for the State’s Net Price Calculator tool located on the College For All Texans website is May 31, 2018. All public institutions that offer an undergraduate program(s) are required to participate.

A notification was sent out April 20, 2018, announcing that effective May 14, 2018, the CAL program will carry a fixed interest rate of 5.30 percent. In that notification, we indicated that all CAL certification processing should be discontinued until May 14th, thus giving the impression that no CAL certifications would be accepted before then.

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) invites all Regional Education Service Centers or other entities that offer Alternative Educator Certification Program the opportunity to participate in the state loan program to receive CAL funds.

Financial Aid Database (FAD) – Reporting Cycle Two – FY 2018 (2017-18) The second reporting cycle for the FY 2018 FAD Report begins May 1, 2018.

The deadline to submit the FY 2017 TEG Engagement Guide (previously the TEG Audit Guide) on findings and corrective action plans (if necessary) are due to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board by April 16, 2018.
