The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s (THECB) Academic and Health Affairs Division is pleased to announce awards under the Nursing Innovation Grant Program (NIGP). NIGP was established to provide grant funding to eligible institutions that propose to address the shortage of registered nurses (RN) in Texas by developing or expanding new activities and projects that promote innovation in the preparation of initial RN licensure nursing students and of faculty who may teach in initial RN licensure programs. The award funding will support programs that address the shortage of registered nurses and/or qualified faculty by promoting innovation in one or more of the following areas: education, recruitment, and retention.
